Local Area Description

Set in the perfect location. On a residential chalet estate with plenty of trees, it is a very pleasant place to come to all year round, especially in spring or autumn because of the mild climate. The local beach can be enjoyed throughout the year.
Restaurants with Mediterranean food at good prices.

Near to places of cultural interest, such as Orihuela, the mud spa in Lopagán, the Palmeral and the El Huerto del Cura gardens in Elche, the seafront promenade in Pilar de la Horadada and its spectacular sandy beaches, the cities of Murcia and Cartagena, as well as Torrevieja and its Habaneras shopping centre where you can find well-known shop chains like Springfield, Zara, H&M, C&A, etc.

Torrevieja is 15km away, with all kinds of shops, cinemas showing films in English and a hospital. There is another hospital in Orihuela Costa (3 km from the house). Very peaceful.

The nearest airport is San Javier (Murcia), 25 km, and afterwards in Alicante (El Altet). There is an option to be collected from the airport and to rent a car in order to get to know the area.

Orihuela is the capital of the largest region in the province of Alicante, the Vega Baja, an area of 443,20001 square kilometres. Southern part of the Valencia Region, bordering on the Region of Murcia. Its municipal districts are Torrevieja, San Miguel de Salinas, Pilar de la Horadada, Benejúzar, Jacarilla, Bigastro, Rafal, Almoradí, Callosa de Segura, Redován, Albatera, Hondón de los Frailes, Hondón de las Nieves and Pinoso. Temperate, with an average of 5 degrees in winter and 30 degrees in summer and very scanty rainfall. The lack of rain means there are over 250 days of sun per year. Orihuela has a varied landscape, largely determined by the River Segura. Along its banks citrus fruits, vegetables and cotton are grown intensively. In contrast with the market garden area there are wide areas of unirrigated farming with mainly olive and almond trees.

A little over 20 kilometers from this city, dating Bigastro direction and passing through San Miguel de Salinas, Orihuela has 16 miles of coast where cliffs alternate water transparent and sandy beaches reputable: Punta Prima, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campoamor, Playa Flamenca and Thousand Palms.
